History

When we speak of toothpaste advertising slogans, what taglines usually draw the attention of consumers to a particular brand?  Slogans that not only promise clean and cavity-free teeth, but also pearly white teeth.  Catchphrases on whiter teeth are most common because advertisers know that consumers want whiter teeth.

“Choose the healthier side of whitening.”

“Whitening that’s fast and lasts.”

 “ An intense stain remover.”

 “More than a whiter smile.”

“Life opens with a whiter smile.”

“Sleep your way to whiter smile

But not all consumers want white teeth.  Not everyone thinks that white teeth are beautiful. The B’laan ethnic group in Southern Mindanao is one of them.
